Our Step-By-Step Approach

1. DEVELOPMENT & PLANNING

This crucial phase involves setting a budget, and outlining your roof lifting goals. Thorough planning at this stage helps prevent issues and sets the foundation for the entire project.

2. EQUIPMENT RELOCATION

Heine Construction is uniquely able to disassemble, move, and store critical equipment of ALL sizes during the roof lifting or roof raising construction process to ensure nothing gets damaged.

3. CONSTRUCTION

This phase involves preparing the existing structure by removing interior finishes, installing temporary support structures (cribbing), detaching walls, utilizing lifting equipment to raise the roof to the desired height, installing new structural elements as needed, and then reattaching walls and finishing the interior once the roof is lifted to its new position.

4. POST-CONSTRUCTION

This includes creating and completing punch lists, final inspections, systems testing, site cleanup, re-assembling equipment, project closeout, owner walkthrough, and documentation. This phase ensures the building is safe, functional, and ready for occupancy.

Answers to commonly asked questions

Industrial roof lifting, also known as roof raising, is a process in which the height of an existing roof is increased to create more interior space. This is typically done without the need to demolish the roof structure, making it a cost-effective solution for adding space.

Roof lifting is usually performed using hydraulic jacks or other specialized equipment to raise the existing roof structure. The walls are then extended, and the roof is re-secured at the new height.

Warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and other industrial buildings with flat or low-slope roofs are generally suitable for roof lifting.

The amount of height that can be added depends on the building’s structural design, local building codes, and zoning restrictions. In most cases, roofs can be raised by several feet.

Yes, roof lifting is often more cost-effective than constructing a new building or a major addition, as it uses the existing structure rather than requiring new materials and land.

Most types of flat or low-slope roofs can be lifted, although the specific materials and structural design may affect feasibility. A structural engineer can assess the suitability.

With proper engineering and reinforcement, roof lifting can enhance structural integrity, especially if upgrades are made during the process to support the raised roof.

Yes, increasing a building’s usable space through roof lifting can boost property value, as it offers greater functionality and potential rental income if leased.
